On Monday, January 3rd, a new Weekly Column will invade the internet. “Bagwell’s Bass Tactics” which originally appeared monthly in the now defunct Bass Journal magazine, will be available on a select few websites.
“One of the biggest changes made to my column is the time schedule. Previously it was a monthly deal because of the magazine’s print schedule. This would make it tough to touch on certain topics at the appropriate times of the year,” Bagwell explained. “While the majority of the issues that I cover are tip and tactic oriented, there will be some that are just some of my personal and sometimes over opinionated tongue lashings. The goal behind this weekly column is two fold. I want to help educate anglers of varying skill levels. At other times, I just want to cut loose and really let the readers know what’s on my mind. If I can help an angler catch more fish by simply sharing thoughts and ideas it is all worth it. Additionally, if there is something exciting, shady or just plain STUPID going on in the bass fishing industry, I will share my viewpoints on the topic. Obviously, some people will take things out of context or take them personal, but I don’t really care who gets mad about it. When something is bugging me to the point where I feel that it’s worth writing about, believe me I will do it. If somebody gets fired up about something I write, maybe they just have a guilty conscience.”
Moving to the internet rather than another print magazine was done in an attempt to reach more readers. “I write for a couple of other magazines and they are great magazines. But, even the best magazines on the market, don’t have nearly the readers that the internet has.” explained Bagwell.
The best part about “Bagwell’s Bass Tactics” being available online is that it is now FREE. Readers don’t have to subscribe to a magazine or buy it from the newsstands. They simply have to log onto the internet and visit some of the hottest bass fishing websites around.
Jeremiah T. Bagwell has written for various magazines and websites for the last few years. He also competes in dozens of Bass tournaments each year. He has won back to back (2003 & 2004) Angler of the Year titles in one of the circuits that he fishes. JT also has various other tournament Wins and numerous Big Bass awards to his credit. In addition, Bagwell has dozens of very good Pro contacts and can reach most of the industries “Heavy Hitters” by simply picking up the phone. This really helps add varying viewpoints to his articles and to some degree in his column.
